Data Management Role

This is a high-level data management position focused on the aviation sector.

We are seeking an experienced professional with a strong background in data governance, complex data modeling, and cloud-based data products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead Data Lifecycle Management: Oversee the entire data lifecycle, from acquisition to cataloguing and governance, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
  • Design Complex Data Models: Develop and maintain intricate data models that support aviation operations and analytics, providing actionable insights for business stakeholders.
  • Manage Metadata and Catalogue Tools: Utilize metadata management and data catalogue tools to ensure data discoverability, lineage tracking, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Deliver Cloud-Based Data Products: Design, develop, and deploy scalable and secure data products on cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure, meeting the needs of cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Apply Data Transformation Techniques: Apply foundational data transformation techniques using SQL and Python to prepare data for consumption, ensuring data quality and consistency.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with various teams to define data requirements, align with business goals, and champion data quality, integrity, and compliance across systems and processes.
Required Qualifications:
  • Proven Experience: Possess extensive experience in data management and governance across all stages of the data lifecycle.
  • Complex Data Modelling: Demonstrate a deep understanding and hands-on experience with complex data modelling techniques, including data structures and relationships.
  • Metadata Management and Data Cataloguing: Show proficiency in metadata management and data cataloguing tools, ensuring data discoverability and lineage tracking.
  • Cloud Ecosystems: Proven delivery of data products within cloud ecosystems (AWS or Azure), leveraging scalability and security features.
  • Data Manipulation and Transformation: Possess strong SQL and Python skills for data manipulation and transformation, ensuring data quality and consistency.
  • Communication and Stakeholder Management: Exhibit excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities, effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Customer-Centric Mindset: Demonstrate a customer-centric mindset, with a pragmatic approach to value delivery and execution.
  • Data Excellence: Display strong attention to detail, commitment to data excellence, and solid business acumen.

Domain Expertise

  • SAP ERP and MDG: Applied experience with core systems, particularly in master data governance and enterprise resource planning.
  • Aviation Business Knowledge: Ability to contextualize data within the aviation business landscape to drive insights and innovation.
  • Commercial Aspects of Aviation Industry: Deep understanding of customer location profitability, pricing strategies, and its impact on commercial performance.
