Job Title: Director of Software Delivery Management

About the Role: We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead and motivate cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration and driving results-oriented initiatives. This role involves overseeing large, geographically distributed teams and setting up medium-sized delivery teams organized across one or more projects/work streams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • A seasoned professional with 5+ years of experience in program or Line of Business (LoB) management, overseeing large, geographically distributed teams.
  • Requires strong business domain knowledge in the financial services sector, preferably within capital markets/investment banking, backed by an IT consulting/services firm background.
  • Must have expertise in setting up medium-sized delivery teams (25+ people) organized across one or more projects/work streams.
  • Proven project or program management experience across the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), encompassing various methodologies like Agile, Iterative, Waterfall, and Hybrid.
  • Experience with service offerings such as application development, maintenance, reengineering, migration, etc., different pricing models (fixed price, fixed capacity, time and material, client managed, etc.), and engagement models (partner/vendor managed, co-managed, and client managed).
  • Strong commercial acumen with high proficiency in effort/cost estimation.
  • Excellent business communication, negotiation, and conflict management skills are essential.
  • Strong understanding of project financials and IT services contracts.
  • Hands-on delivery leadership experience on complex/high-risk projects.
  • Driving pre-sales efforts as bid managers (large proposals and sales pitches) and identifying opportunities in existing customer businesses is expected.
  • Previous experience managing leads/Program Managers in a matrix organization is desirable. Ability to travel short-term overseas when needed.

What You'll Need:

  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in software delivery management or a related field.
  • Proven track record of delivering successful software projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Strong business domain knowledge in the financial services sector, preferably within capital markets/investment banking.
  • Experience with Agile, Scrum, and/or Kanban methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with effective stakeholder management and strategic thinking.
