Counterparty Credit Risk Analyst

Role Overview

The Counterparty Credit Risk (CCR) team is responsible for managing credit risk exposure across various client groups, providing a critical second line of defense within the Risk Function.

This role involves researching and analysing financial data to prepare high-quality analysis addressing client credit risk and transaction risk.

Main Accountabilities

  • Conduct in-depth research and analysis of clients' financial data to develop comprehensive credit risk assessments.
  • Perform thorough risk assessment and due diligence on clients as required.
  • Effectively challenge credit ratings and limits proposed by first-line defence teams.
  • Monitor risk exposures and counterparty creditworthiness, identifying potential areas of concern.
  • Raise alerts as necessary to ensure timely management action.
  • Develop and propose risk mitigation strategies to minimize potential losses.
  • Present recommendations for risk limits and one-off transactions to stakeholders.
  • Coordinate credit requests and liaise with internal stakeholders.
  • Contribute to transversal analysis and projects enhancing overall credit risk management.
Key Skills and Qualifications

Technical Skills:

  • Strong quantitative skills, including advanced analytical techniques.
  • Excellent reading and comprehension skills, particularly with complex legal documentation.
  • Ability to form, defend, and enforce risk judgements, taking decisive action when necessary.
  • Superior analysis and synthesis abilities, coupled with effective communication skills.
  • Strong interaction and collaboration skills with senior personnel.
  • In-depth knowledge of capital markets and OTC traded products.
  • Expertise in counterparty risk analysis.
