Database Administrator Role Overview

This is a critical database administration role that requires exceptional technical skills and expertise in managing large-scale databases. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing complex database estates, ensuring high availability, and implementing robust security measures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain large-scale databases to ensure optimal performance and availability
  • Implement and manage high-availability solutions, including RAC, Golden Gate, and Dataguard
  • Configure and manage ASM instances, as well as plan and execute major migrations and upgrades
  • Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies to minimize downtime
  • Identify and troubleshoot database performance issues and provide recommendations for improvement
  • Work closely with application teams and stakeholders to identify and resolve technical issues
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and best practices in database administration

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in database administration, with a focus on Oracle
  • Extensive knowledge of Oracle Database concepts, including data modeling, SQL, PL/SQL, and database architecture
  • Experience with database performance tuning, backup and recovery, and high-availability solutions
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
