Job Title: AWS Datadog Engineer

Job Summary:

Alpha Net is seeking an experienced AWS Datadog Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our technical operations team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our cloud infrastructure on AWS, ensuring the security, health, and performance of our business systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement highly scalable Kubernetes-based infrastructure on AWS, managed via IaC tools such as Terraform, Helm, and Kustomize.
  • Develop and maintain monitoring and alerting infrastructure built on AWS CloudWatch/DataDog.
  • Work closely with software engineers to ensure our applications are designed with operability and scalability in mind.
  • Lead Incident Response for live issues, identify areas of enhancement in tools and software.
  • Develop tools to optimize our ability to rapidly deploy and effectively monitor our application stack.

Requirements:

  • Prior experience in an enterprise-facing technical operations role.
  • Monitoring & Alerts definition, ownership, and setup.
  • DataDog integration and dashboard experience.
  • Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS.
  • 5+ years supporting deployments and managing AWS event-driven monitoring and alerting systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills that span systems, network, and code.
  • Demonstrated programming skills in one or more of: Python, NodeJS, Java, C, Shell.
  • Experience with AWS Inspector, AWS Detective, Lacework, or similar security tools is a plus.
  • 5+ years in a UNIX-based operations role.
  • Deep UNIX/Linux systems knowledge and/or systems administration background managing large business critical deployments.
