Backend Systems Engineer

We are seeking a seasoned Backend Systems Engineer to oversee the design, development, and maintenance of scalable, secure, and high-performance APIs and services.

  • Design, build, and maintain backend services using JavaScript (Node.js).
  • Develop and optimize RESTful APIs (and GraphQL if applicable) to meet business needs.
  • Take end-to-end ownership of backend systems: from architecture and coding to testing, deployment, and monitoring.
  • Ensure system scalability, performance, and security through rigorous testing and quality assurance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, design, frontend) to deliver seamless user experiences.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve issues in production to minimize downtime and ensure continuity.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code that meets industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
  • Own the full lifecycle of backend services, from conception to delivery.
  • Work closely with product and design teams to understand business requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Develop and implement automated testing and deployment processes to streamline workflows.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in software development and engineering.
  • Contribute to the growth and development of junior engineers through mentorship and knowledge sharing.
