About the Role

As a Principal Pricing Analyst at NTT DATA, you will play a crucial role in driving growth across deals and ensuring maximum profitability. You will be responsible for analyzing deals to identify efficiencies and opportunities for cost optimization. Your expertise will be invaluable in supporting pre-sales engagements, particularly in pricing and margin aspects. You will manage the complex deal review process, working closely with the sales team to optimize deals and mitigate risks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of pricing structures and commercial models.
  • Lead pricing negotiations with clients and ensure costing optimization with vendors and regions.
  • Partner with field sales to implement pricing and deal packaging guidelines.
  • Own the assessment of data from various sources to derive insights into pricing strategies and market trends.
  • Advises on risk assessment and exposure management, identifying areas of concern.
  • Responsible for designing competitive pricing propositions for client deals.
  • Advises on achieving commercial returns and managing key risks, working closely with the sales team.
  • Plan pricing designs, including developing client business cases, NTT business cases, and pricing responses.
  • Develop deal structuring and packaging guidance for sales, incorporating macro perspectives to ensure deals make overall business sense.
  • Own the development of pricing tools to respond to changing market needs and trends.
  • Lead the development of pricing templates conforming to business standards.
  • Work with Legal to perform contract reviews and assessments.
  • Responsible for performing scenario analysis, what-if comparisons, and sensitivity analysis on key deals.
  • Own the transfer of pricing knowledge to the GDC delivery team for ongoing commercial contract management.
  • Lead the review of financial returns from engagements to capture learning and insights.
  • Advises on analyzing common trends and issues around pricing and competitive situations, identifying learnings from deals.
  • Capture knowledge into artefacts to support new pursuits and ensure it is embedded in NTT's approach.
  • Lead the development and facilitation of training programs on pricing pursuits lessons learned for account, sales enablement, and delivery teams.

Requirements

  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of the IT industry environment and business needs.
  • Excellent knowledge of the industry, including competitors and market trends.
  • Understanding of IFRS/US GAAP.
  • Proficiency in comprehending and analyzing P&L, Cash Flow, and other key financial metrics essential for deal valuation.
  • Excellent knowledge of vendor pricing and commercial models.
  • Keen eye for identifying opportunities.
  • Excellent analytical and research skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent negotiation and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective reporting and presentation skills.
  • Commercial acumen.
  • High level of drive and ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent understanding of global commerce and business capabilities and policies for global deals.
  • Ability to build and maintain cross-functional relationships with various stakeholders.
  • Maintains extensive knowledge of product and service offerings, including new offerings.

Academic Qualifications and Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Mathematics, Statistics, Business, Commercial, or equivalent.

Required Experience

  • 8-12+ years of experience in Pricing, Commercial, Financial Analysis, or related fields with at least 7 years of minimum experience in Pricing complex managed services deals.
  • Extended demonstrated experience working with Complex Managed services deals and country sales and architect teams.
  • Extended demonstrated relevant experience in similar roles within related environments.
  • Extended demonstrated pricing experience as a consultant or practitioner with a history of developing and implementing innovative pricing solutions.
  • Extended demonstrated experience in commercial modeling using MS Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
