Accountant Position

Job Summary:

This role involves overseeing general accounting operations by controlling and verifying financial transactions. Key responsibilities include reconciling account balances, maintaining a general ledger, preparing month-end close procedures, analyzing financial reports and forecasts, and ensuring accuracy in all accounting tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile accounts
  • Produce accurate and error-free accounting reports and present results
  • Analyze financial information and summarize financial status
  • Identify errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending
  • Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures
  • Manage accounting assistants and bookkeepers
  • Prepare financial statements
  • Assist with tax audits and tax returns
  • Plan, assign, and review staff's work
  • Support the month-end and year-end close process
  • Develop and document business processes to maintain internal controls

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as an accountant.
  • In-depth understanding of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (USGAAP).
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
  • Hands-on experience with accounting software packages, like Xero and QuickBooks.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills.
