Job Opportunity

A commis role at a leading food establishment is an excellent opportunity to learn and grow in the culinary industry. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking dishes with authenticity and consistency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and Cook Dishes: Prepare and cook dishes of assigned cuisine (South Indian/Chinese/Mughlai/Awadhi) with authenticity and consistency.
  • Manage Mise-en-Place: Manage mise-en-place and daily food preparation.
  • Ensure Portion Control and Hygiene Compliance: Ensure portion control, plating standards, and hygiene compliance.
  • Train and Supervise Team Members: Train and supervise commis II & III in techniques, recipes, and kitchen safety.
  • Monitor Inventory and Assist in Requisitions: Monitor inventory and assist in requisitions.
  • Maintain Cleanliness and Organization: Maintain cleanliness and organization of the section.
Roles within the Kitchen Hierarchy:
  1. Commis I:
    • Assist Senior Chefs: Assist in preparing ingredients, basic sauces, and garnishes.
    • Cook Standard Menu Items: Cook standard menu items under guidance.
    • Ensure Mise-en-Place is Ready for Service: Ensure mise-en-place is ready for service.
    • Maintain Kitchen Hygiene and Follow SOPs: Maintain kitchen hygiene and follow SOPs.
    • Report Shortages or Quality Issues: Report shortages or quality issues to seniors.
  2. Commis II:
    • Wash, Peel, Chop, and Store Ingredients: Wash, peel, chop, and store ingredients.
    • Assist with Mise-en-Place and Stock Rotation: Assist with mise-en-place and stock rotation.
    • Follow Instructions to Learn Basic Cooking Methods: Follow instructions to learn basic cooking methods.
    • Maintain Kitchen Hygiene and Dishwashing Support: Maintain kitchen hygiene, dishwashing support if needed.
    • Develop Knowledge of Assigned Cuisine: Develop knowledge of assigned cuisine.
  3. Commis III:

    As the junior-most member of the kitchen team, the commis III plays a vital role in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and organization.
