The role of Site Reliability Engineer focuses on ensuring the reliability and scalability of financial systems.

  • Sustainability Management: Responsible for day-to-day operations of accounting and finance applications and data platforms to ensure they meet business expectations.
  • Availability and Reliability: Ensure that accounting and finance platforms meet defined service level agreements, service level objectives, and service level indicators for performance, reliability, and uptime.
  • Automation: Implement automation for deployments, monitoring, scaling, and self-healing capabilities to reduce manual effort and operational risk.
  • Observability: Develop and maintain comprehensive monitoring, alerting, and logging for accounting applications and data pipelines.
  • Crisis Response: Lead and participate in on-call rotations, perform root cause analysis, and drive improvements to prevent recurrence of production issues.
  • Operational Best Practices: Establish and enforce best practices for capacity planning, performance tuning, disaster recovery, and compliance controls in financial systems.
  • Collaboration with Engineering & Finance Teams: Partner with software engineers, data engineers, and finance/accounting teams to ensure operational needs are met from development through production.
  • Workload Management: Manage workload, priorities, and escalations for operations staff and partner teams, ensuring alignment with service level agreements and compliance requirements.
  • Audit Support: Ensure operational practices meet internal controls, audit requirements, and financial compliance standards.
  • Improvement Opportunities: Identify opportunities to improve system resilience through post-incident reviews and implementation of lessons learned.
