Reporting Finance Data Analyst Role Overview

This is a key position in our organization, responsible for supporting the production and maintenance of master data objects within the SAP system. Key duties include creating, changing, and closing master data objects related to SAP tables and attributes in the ERD Horizon reporting system.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintenance: Create, change, and close master data objects in compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
  • Collaboration: Work with the IT team on master data maintenance and cycles.
  • Policies and Controls: Adhere to master data policies and support internal controls, including SOX controls.
  • Audit Documentation: Maintain required audit documentation.
  • Internal Audits: Support internal and SOX audits by providing necessary documentation and process-related information.
  • User Support: Assist end users with their master data queries, primarily related to the master data request process.
  • Compliance Projects: Support compliance and other internal projects that require master data actions, including testing updates to systems and processes.
  • Master Data Hygiene: Support master data hygiene through necessary validations and clean-up projects.
Required Skills and Qualifications:Technical Skills:
  • Master Data Concepts: Strong understanding of SAP master data concepts, objects (company code, profit center, cost centers, WBS projects, client customer, GL account, etc.).
  • Finance Master Data Team Specifics: Understanding of finance master data team specifics, including SAP systems and master data maintenance solutions in SAP.
  • Sales Master Data Specifics: Understanding sales master data structure, sales org structure, accounts, opportunities, etc.
  • External References: Understanding external references used in DXC reporting (e.g., Duns & Bradstreet database).
  • Organizational Processes: Understanding of DXC master data-related processes and policies.
  • Business Acumen: Ability to understand the integration and impact of changes for sales master data with finance, solutioning, product taxonomy, and reporting.
  • Tool Proficiency: Very good command of business tools and Microsoft Office applications (MS Teams, Excel, SharePoint). Desirable working knowledge of other tools like Microsoft Power Products.
Soft Skills:
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written English skills.
  • Cultural Competence: Fluency in other local languages is desirable based on location but not required.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with master data users at different management levels, both in person and virtually.
  • Project Management: Ability to plan and run effective meetings with multiple participants.
  • Documentation: Ability to develop process documentation and explain supported processes and master data to stakeholders.
  • Training Delivery: Senior analyst and manager level ability to develop master data-related training materials and deliver them effectively to the master data users community.
  • Analytical Thinking: Analytical skills.
  • Results Orientation: Result-oriented, meeting deadlines.
Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Work Experience: 3-5 years of work experience gained in SAP or master data roles or accounting finance with exposure to master data topics.
  • Education: Undergraduate college degree at minimum in computer IT engineering or finance - SAP-related training or certificates would be an advantage.
