Data Governance Specialist

Job Description:

As a Data Governance Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and consistency of our enterprise data. You will be responsible for analyzing various data domains, implementing MDM processes, and contributing to data governance initiatives to support reliable business operations and insights.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Data Analysis & Profiling: Conduct thorough analysis and profiling to identify quality issues, inconsistencies, and opportunities for standardization.
  • MDM Process Execution: Execute established MDM processes for data creation, updates, validation, and syndication across various business systems.
  • Data Cleansing & Standardization: Participate in data cleansing, standardization, and enrichment activities to ensure high-quality master data.
  • Data Governance Support: Adhere to data definitions, quality rules, and security policies for master data domains.
  • System Integration Support: Collaborate with IT teams to ensure seamless integration of master data across different platforms.
  • Issue Resolution: Identify, analyze, and resolve master data-related issues, working with technical teams to implement corrective actions.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation of master data definitions, business rules, processes, and data flows.
  • Reporting: Generate reports on master data quality, progress of MDM initiatives, and compliance with data governance standards.
  • Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify areas for improvement in MDM processes and tools, recommending solutions to enhance efficiency and data quality.

Required Skills:

  • Strong understanding of Master Data Management (MDM) concepts, principles, and best practices.
  • Experience with data analysis, data profiling, and data quality tools.
  • Proficiency in data cleansing, standardization, and validation techniques.
  • Familiarity with various data domains (e.g., customer, product, vendor, material).
  • Ability to work with databases and understand data models.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for interacting with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to follow established processes and contribute to process improvements.
