Accounting Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced accounting professional to join our team. This role will be crucial in managing the financial operations for our organization.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Financial Operations Management:
    • Manage daily bookkeeping and accounting entries, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
    • Ensure accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions.
    • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
    • Ensure compliance with Indian accounting standards and internal policies.
    • Assist with Goods and Services Tax (GST), tax deductibility at source (TDS), income tax, and registrar of companies (ROC) filings for the India entity.
  • Global Financial Support:
    • Support transfer pricing compliance and related documentation.
    • Handle cross-border payments, foreign exchange management act (FEMA) compliance, and banking liaison.
    • Assist in consolidation of group accounts.
  • Expense Management:
    • Record, monitor, and clear all company expenses.
    • Ensure compliance with company policies and budgets.
    • Handle employee reimbursements and expense reports.
  • Statutory Compliance:
    • Ensure compliance with Indian statutory requirements, including TDS, GST, provident fund (PF), profession tax (PT), and other applicable laws.
    • Prepare and file all necessary returns and reports on time.
    • Coordinate with external auditors and tax consultants as needed.
  • Import and Export Transactions:
    • Manage bill of entry (BOE) and outward removals manifest (ORM) mapping for import and export transactions.
    • Ensure compliance with relevant import/export regulations.
  • Purchase Orders and Sales Orders:
    • Create and manage purchase orders and sales orders.
    • Ensure accuracy and completeness of all orders.
    • Coordinate with procurement and sales teams to streamline processes.
  • Audit and Reporting:
    • Support statutory and internal audits.
    • Assist in management information system (MIS) reports for management on a monthly basis.
    • Maintain accurate records for due diligence and fundraising-related requirements.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
  • Professional qualification preferred: Chartered Accountant (CA) Intermediate.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in accounting and finance, including articleship.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of Indian accounting standards, familiarity with TDS, GST, PF, PT, and other Indian statutory requirements.
  • Skills:
  • Proficient in Zoho books and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
