About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Portfolio Recovery Manager to join our team. As a key member of our collections function, you will be responsible for managing the remedial legal process and working closely with regional collection teams to accelerate the collection process.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Handle legal matters for collections in assigned regions by working with regional collection teams to recover dues from chronic NPA cases through legal intervention.
  • Provide assistance, advice, and guidance to the regional collections team by identifying and empaneling competent law firms and lawyers in the region.
  • Handle all legal and SARFAESI compliance matters of the company, coordinating with external vendors and agencies for execution of different stages of the SARFAESI Act.
  • Maintain and safeguard collaterals in the company's possession post-surrender or repossession after due adherence to norms under the SARFAESI Act.
  • Coordinate with enforcement agencies and local police while taking physical possession of mortgaged property and ensure effective steps are taken in furtherance of cases to get them resolved within the legal framework as advised.
  • Arrange for buyers for properties against which auction notices have been published or private treaties towards closure of accounts under SARFAESI.
  • Manage portfolio movement and control loss by ensuring that NPAs are kept at minimum trigger levels and reducing NPAs through legal tools and compliance within set timelines.
  • Keep track of the progress of all cases filed by the company in the region, ensuring timely circulation of legal MIS on all FOR and AGAINST cases.
  • Act as a pivot to ensure effective interdepartmental communication with operations, credit, and sales functions.
  • Lead and supervise the legal collections team for the implementation of a recovery agenda through appropriate training, motivation, and deployment strategies.
  • Keep abreast of all latest developments, trends in local law, best practices with respect to collections, security creation, and loan documentation.
  • Ensure compliance to all audit, NHB, IRB regulations as well as policies and procedures of the company.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Law or related field.
  • Prior experience in collections, legal, or related field.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
