Database Expert for High-Performance Applications

We are seeking an experienced database developer with a strong expertise in database programming and PostgreSQL to design, develop, and maintain high-performance applications. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in writing, optimizing, and maintaining complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and triggers, along with exposure to Azure PostgreSQL.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and maintain PL/pgSQL stored procedures, functions, triggers, packages, and cursors that meet the highest standards of performance and security.
  • Write, analyze, and optimize complex SQL queries, including joins, sub-queries, and merge operations to ensure data accuracy and efficiency.
  • Perform data analysis, query tuning, and indexing for performance optimization in Azure PostgreSQL to improve application responsiveness.
  • Automate and manage data loads using Pgloader and other scripting methods to streamline business processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure database solutions align with business requirements and objectives.
  • Work on shell scripting and Linux-based automation for database-related tasks to enhance system reliability and scalability.
  • Ensure best practices for database performance, security, and reliability by implementing robust backup and recovery strategies.
Required Skills & Experience:
  • Primary Skills: PL/SQL, PostgreSQL, strong DB knowledge, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Secondary Skills: Shell scripting and Linux, with experience in automation tools.
  • Hands-on development experience in PL/pgSQL stored procedures, triggers, cursors, functions, and packages, with a focus on performance and security.
  • Strong understanding of SQL query design, optimization, and troubleshooting, with experience in resolving complex issues.
  • Experience with Azure PostgreSQL, indexing, and performance tuning, with a focus on data accuracy and efficiency.
  • Exposure to data load automation tools (Pgloader preferred), with experience in streamlining business processes.

The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of experience in PL/SQL development and a strong understanding of database programming concepts, with a passion for designing and developing high-performance applications.
