Job Title: Application Modernization Cloud Consultant

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Application Modernization Cloud Consultant to join our team at SMARTWORK IT SERVICES. As a key member of our cloud consulting team, you will work with our most strategic customers to help them transform their businesses through cloud-based application modernization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide consulting, program management, and technical expertise to customers on critical application development and modernization projects.
  • Work with client executives and key technical leaders to drive adoption of modern application patterns and paradigms via Google Cloud Platform.
  • Manage programs, deliver consulting services, and provide technical guidance and best practice expertise to key Google partners servicing top accounts.
  • Develop and maintain a broad skill set including software engineering, architecture design, distributed systems, container technologies, and deployment strategies.
  • Travel approximately 30% of the time for client engagements.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience demonstrating technical client service and/or delivering technical solutions.
  • Advanced understanding of the software supply chain in an enterprise environment (software engineering, testing, CI/CD) and architecting, developing, or maintaining cloud solutions in containerized environments.
  • Container and Platform Skills, including containerization, infra as code, CICD, observability, and GCP Architect Certification.
  • Ability to speak and write in English fluently.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with highly available, scalable applications and distributed systems.
  • Experience with software languages (Java, Go, JavaScript, Python, etc.) and building / architecting DevOps pipelines and familiarity with associated tools.
  • Experience with detailed network, security, and system design in the deployment of virtual machines and containerized applications.
  • Solution Architecture: EA related Awareness - Business Acumen.
  • Application Architecture: Microservices backend experience, front-end exposure.
  • Cloud-Native Design Patterns: Understanding patterns that are specific to cloud-based application refactoring and modernization.
  • API Management: Being well-versed in API gateways, design, security, and monitoring.
  • Database skills from the developer perspective.
