The role of Application Management Specialist involves overseeing the management and operation of all academic, administrative, and enterprise IT applications at a higher education institution.
Main Responsibilities:- Application Lifecycle Management:
- Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of enterprise applications including deployment, configuration, upgrades, integration, and performance optimization.
- Ensure high availability, reliability, and security of all academic and administrative applications.
- Oversee issue resolution, incident management, and root cause analysis for application-related problems.
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Collaborate with academic leaders and administrative heads to understand requirements and deliver effective IT solutions.
- Serve as the primary liaison with application vendors and service providers.
- Lead user adoption initiatives including training and support.
- Strategic Planning & Governance:
- Develop and execute the application roadmap in alignment with institutional digital transformation goals.
- Establish governance standards, documentation, and compliance with IT policies.
- Recommend and implement innovative technology solutions to enhance teaching, learning, and operations.
- Team Leadership & Vendor Management:
- Lead and mentor the application support team at campus level.
- Manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts/SLAs, and ensure quality service delivery.
- Promote a culture of service excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Integration & Data Management:
- Foster seamless integration of CRM, SIS, LMS, ERP, HRMS, and other systems.
- Ensure data integrity, consistency, and accessibility across platforms.
- Maintain compliance with data privacy, cybersecurity, and higher education regulatory requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline (Master's preferred).
- Around 15 years of progressive experience in IT application management, ideally in higher education or large enterprise environments.
- Expertise in managing Salesforce CRM, ERP (Finance & HR), SIS, LMS, Library Management, and related systems.
- Strong experience in application integration, vendor management, and IT governance.
- Demonstrated success in leading teams and managing complex projects.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity, compliance, and digital transformation best practices.
