About the Role:

Alstom is seeking a highly skilled Project Engineering Manager to lead the technical aspects of our projects. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the technical contractual scope of the project, ensuring customer acceptance, and identifying and mitigating technical risks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the technical contractual scope of the project, including the development of the project requirements database and the allocation of requirements to the project team.
  • Act as the chairman of the Project Change Control Board, ensuring that all changes to the project scope are properly documented and approved.
  • Be responsible for the project design and application engineering activities, including the development of the project solution and the customization and parameterization of the generic solution to meet Quality, Cost, Delivery, and performance (QCDP) commitments.
  • Supervise Verification & Validation activities, ensuring that all project deliverables meet the required standards.
  • Be accountable for Engineering WP QCD, providing BOM, and ensuring that the project solution is properly validated.
  • Functionally lead the project engineering team, allocating tasks across the team and ensuring that engineering activities follow-up.
  • Deploy the applicable engineering process, methods, and tools on the project, managing and participating in the evaluation of the project engineering team.
  • Share Environment, Health, and Security (EHS) rules with the project engineering team, receiving inputs from the PM/Project EHS Manager/Coordinator or RC EHS Manager.
  • Support assessment of the teams involved in project engineering activities, including the ones belonging to a different Regional Center.
  • Verify Project Safety Case, managing the interface with the project core team, and providing all technical documents to the project core team members for the industrialization, sourcing, installation, test, and commissioning.
  • Solve technical issues detected by different core team members, during project warranty, coordinate actions to support resolution of pending technical issues following Project Warranty Manager (PrWM) requirements.
  • Support PrQSM to consolidate the REX of the Project and the Reliability Growth, and support RC Project Engineering Domain/Metiers Department Head to define/perform knowledge capitalization.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the signalling industry, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in signalling design.
  • Good communication skills, with attention to details.
  • Shall possess a degree in any of the Engineering discipline.
  • Shall be a team player and capable to manage the Engineering team.
  • Review documentation and challenge technical choices across all disciplines, act as technical manager for the project, including establishing customer requirements and developing the cost and schedule for all Engineering activities.
  • Organise, lead, manage, and motivate the engineering team on a project, must be able to develop System Specification and Requirements, define system elements and interfaces in sufficient detail to provide a basis for system implementation, develop engineering strategy, and identify and manage technical risks.
  • Must be able to make a customer confident on the way the design activities are managed and handled, to build a trust relationship, representing Alstom's strategy and position.
  • Must be able to manage an Engineering Work Package and the associated risks, knowledge of project management Indicators and understanding of how to use them to follow-up the project situation, identify potential problems with anticipation, and address them in a timely manner.
  • Language Skills: Must be well-versed in English, IT Skills: Must be well-versed in MS office.
