Financial Accountant Position

This position is embedded within a reputable accounting firm under the umbrella of a respected business entity. We are seeking an experienced accountant to join our dynamic team and oversee general accounting operations.

The ideal candidate should have excellent analytical skills and thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports and forecasts. The successful applicant will be responsible for reconciling account balances and bank statements, maintaining a general ledger, and preparing month-end close procedures.

  • Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile accounts
  • Produce error-free accounting reports and present their results
  • Analyze financial information and summarize financial status
  • Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending

Key responsibilities also include ensuring accuracy and effectiveness in all of our accounting tasks, reviewing and recommending modifications to accounting systems and procedures, managing accounting assistants and bookkeepers, preparing financial statements, assisting with tax audits and tax returns, planning, assigning, and reviewing staff's work, supporting month-end and year-end close process, developing and documenting business processes to maintain and strengthen internal controls, and ensuring compliance with US GAAP principles.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Relevant certification (e.g., CMA or CPA) will be preferred
  • General computer skills (MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Accounting tools: Familiarity with accounting software packages, like Xero, QuickBooks
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Multitasking capacity
  • Capability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Highly organized in document management with strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently
