Job Brief

A General Manager/Assistant General Manager shall be responsible for supervising the effective management of a company's backpacker hostel. He/she shall be entrusted to manage a 35-50 keys hotel/hostel, overseeing multiple facets of operations including front office, housekeeping, human resource management, F&B, guest experience, R&M & engineering, security & safety, etc., as per standard operating procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Understanding of the hospitality/hotel industry with extensive work experience
  2. Understanding of the company vision, business expansion plans, operational standards, etc.
  3. Understanding the nuances of managing a hotel under a brand network and optimizing its operations with a bird's eye view
  4. Understanding hotel pre-launch phase, day-to-day operations, etc.
  5. Understanding of various functions including front desk, housekeeping, F&B, engineering, etc.
  6. Supervising various functions and human resources (blue/white collar)
  7. Managing operational quality with attention to detail on various parameters such as infrastructure, services, staff, operations, etc., to ensure high service quality
  8. Handling & resolving escalations and grievances
  9. Managing P&L and cost-effectiveness while ensuring high service quality
  10. Motivating, mentoring, and aligning staffs
  11. Liaising with various departments such as local police, health/fire/safety departments, local vendors, etc., and ensuring a cordial relationship
  12. Coordinating with other departments within the company to help resolve issues

Qualifications

  1. Hospitality Graduate/Post-graduate or Diploma in Hospitality
  2. Min. 5 Years of Experience in a Hotel, Hostel, Guest House, etc.
  3. Extensive Operational Knowledge of Hotel Operations
  4. Outstanding Communication, Interpersonal & Time-Management Skills
  5. Flexible to Relocate Anywhere in Southern India
  6. High Attention to Detail
