Job Summary:

The role of an Oracle Database Engineer entails performing routine operations, health checks, and troubleshooting for Oracle databases on Exadata platforms with GoldenGate replication.

Key responsibilities include conducting daily health assessments, monitoring Oracle GoldenGate processes, reviewing system alerts, validating data backups, and tracking performance metrics.

Additionally, the successful candidate will execute RMAN backup/restore activities, apply standard database patches and updates, and perform routine changes under change control protocols.

They will also be responsible for triaging alarms, gathering diagnostic information, restoring services where possible, and escalating incidents to L2/L3 with clear context and impact summaries.

The ideal candidate should possess ~1 year of hands-on experience with Oracle DBA tasks, schema management, and privilege handling.

A basic understanding of Exadata and Linux administration is required, as well as working knowledge of Oracle GoldenGate fundamentals and familiarity with RMAN, Oracle Enterprise Manager, and SQL*Plus.

Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with a willingness to work in rotational shifts (24×7 support) and adhere to incident/change management processes.
