Database Administrator Position

The ideal candidate will oversee the administration of multiple Oracle and SQL Server databases at various locations, providing 24/7 user support, identifying database-related issues, and coordinating with vendors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support and Training:
    • Provide continuous user support and escalate complex issues to the corporate team as needed.
    • Identify and resolve database-related problems.
    • Conduct regular health checks on databases.
    • Formulate new requirements based on input from implementation and support teams.
  • Vendor Coordination:
    • Coordinate with vendors regarding patches, requirements, and bugs within specified timelines.
  • Knowledge Transfer:
    • Provide technical training to peers and subordinates within the IT department.
  • Release Deployment:
    • Test product patches and track issues until closure.
    • Support user acceptance testing for new features.
    • Provide go-live support after deployment.
  • Departmental Processes:
    • Maintain issue trackers and approval records.
    • Perform other duties assigned by the reporting manager.
Additional Requirements:
  • Willingness to travel across multiple locations on short or long-term basis.
  • Desirable: Healthcare knowledge in the provider space.
Key Skills:
  • Understanding of Oracle database architecture, cloning, patching, and upgrade.
  • Expertise in Oracle Golden Gate replication and production critical multi-terabyte Oracle database administration.
  • Experience with SQL query tuning and database performance analysis.
  • Administration of oracle partitioned tables and their maintenance.
  • Proficiency in security administration, including auditing and user access control.
  • Basic UNIX shell commands and scripting.
