Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned legal expert to join our team as a Debt Management Specialist. This role involves providing strategic guidance to senior stakeholders on optimizing debt management processes, ensuring they are ethical, compliant, and scalable.

You will oversee and resolve debt-related disputes and litigation, coordinating with external counsel when required. A key part of the role involves conducting in-depth legal research to support litigation strategies and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

You will collaborate with internal business, compliance, and legal teams to create practical solutions aligned with business objectives. Additionally, you will build and maintain relationships with external legal partners and regulatory bodies to ensure smooth legal operations.

Requirements
  • Experience with over 8 years in litigation processes, civil procedure, and relevant laws and regulations in India, with prior experience in debt management in banks, NBFCs, or asset reconstruction companies being highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop and execute effective legal strategies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex legal issues in a clear and concise manner.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • High ethical standards, integrity, and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
  • Having good industry relationships with peers handling debt recovery in banks, NBFCs, or asset reconstruction companies will be desirable.
