About the Role

  • Provide premium CICS system programming support and services to Ensono's mainframe clients.
  • The successful candidate will administer and tune CICS Transaction Server software to support customers' environments. They will work with vendors to resolve CICS-related issues promptly.

Responsibilities

  • Fulfill customer service requests in a timely manner for mainframe z/OS customers related to CICS TS and OEM software products.
  • Provide primary support for reported problems concerning CICS TS and OEM software products.
  • Support clients on a 24/7 basis across multiple time zones.
  • Offer key assistance for customer migration services (new customer transitions) regarding CICS TS and OEM software products.
  • Communicate issue status to both customers and management during resolution.
  • Maintain documentation of issue cause, action, and resolution in designated tracking systems.
  • Assist project managers in migrating new clients, addressing technical hurdles efficiently and ensuring expected progress.
  • Jointly execute tasks associated with disaster recovery plans with Disaster Recovery Services and other teams.
  • Achieve efficient resource management and timely implementations according to schedules.
  • Adhere to ITSM change control procedures.

Technical Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required and/or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of professional experience in CICS administration and systems programming support.
  • Experience building new CICS regions.
  • Familiarity with configuring and managing CICS in parallel sysplex-CICSPlex environments.
  • Ability to develop innovation strategies and best practices in software management.
  • Experience reviewing new CICS versions for functionality and advising how they benefit clients.
  • Strong analytical skills and understanding of CICS TS concepts, configuration, and tailoring.
  • Thorough knowledge of products used to monitor CICS TS region performance.
  • Expertise in supporting planned and unplanned database recovery activities.
  • Knowledgeable in best practices for software management, maintenance, and documentation.
  • Experience establishing policies and procedures for CICS management, DR, security, maintenance, and utilization.
  • Ability to evaluate change requests and determine their impact on assigned clients and troubleshoot production CICS issues.

  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Demonstrated ability to respond quickly to support requests from multiple clients.
  • Must be able to multitask and work under short deadlines and high pressure situations.
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and presentations).
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
  • Experience with installing/upgrading/customizing CICS TS and OEM products.
  • Knowledge of SMPE.
