Housekeeping Manager

This role oversees housekeeping operations to maintain impeccable cleanliness, hygiene, and aesthetic standards in guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces. Key responsibilities include driving operational excellence, applied learning, people management, business acumen, leadership, compliance and risk management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement cleanliness and maintenance standards.
  • Create checklists for daily, weekly, and monthly audits.
  • Prepare departmental budgets effectively.
Applied Learning
  • Facilitate continuous on-the-job training.
  • Conduct regular audits to assess team performance.
  • Use the appraisal system to track staff development.
People Management
  • Guide and motivate the team to deliver high service standards.
  • Promote a culture of internal customer care.
  • Lead staffing activities including recruitment and performance discussions.
Business and Financial Acumen
  • Manage inventory and asset control.
  • Monitor consumption patterns to minimize wastage.
  • Review and approve procurement samples.
Leadership
  • Promote a positive leadership style that inspires the team.
  • Ensure department KPIs and goals are met.
  • Modify and improve housekeeping systems and procedures.
Compliance & Risk Management
  • Ensure adherence to occupational health and safety guidelines.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement corrective measures.
  • Document incidents and investigate to avoid recurrence.
Job Requirements/Hiring Profile

Graduate from a hospitality or equivalent institute with 10 years or more experience in Housekeeping and leadership exposure in hospitality.
