Evaluating education management through a comprehensive SaaS platform for tutors and tutoring businesses.

The solution streamlines operations from CRM to test prep, automatic grading, and real-time dashboards. Enabling educators to focus on teaching we're pushing the boundaries of ed-tech and delivering scalable learning systems.

We are evolving into a modular operating system for all service businesses that bill by the hour. As we expand our product offering to include integrated payroll, proposals, whiteboarding, and AI-powered tools, we need a skilled architect with strong expertise in AWS and platform design.

You will be instrumental in translating high-level product vision into a technical foundation. Your leadership will ensure stability with 5,000+ concurrent users and cost-efficiency at 100,000+ total users—all while enabling rapid product evolution.

• Analyze and document the current platform architecture; identify bottlenecks and produce a formal Architecture Gap Report.
• Translate product epics into modular service contracts, data flow diagrams, and scalable system components.
• Decide and implement optimal architectural patterns (monolith vs. microservices, REST vs. event-driven, DB index vs. cache).
• Drive scalable multi-tenant architecture for user/workspace models and complex permission systems.

Solution Architecture & Technical Design

Main Objectives

1. Develop a strategic blueprint for the platform's technology infrastructure.
2. Design and implement data integration pipelines using serverless technologies.
3. Implement robust security measures to safeguard sensitive customer information.
4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive alignment and adoption of architectural decisions.

Platform Standards & DevOps

Main Objectives

1. Establish and maintain platform-wide standards for coding best practices, code reviews, and automated testing.
2. Work closely with DevOps engineers to design and implement high-availability infrastructure and auto-scaling environments on AWS.
3. Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to ensure efficient deployment of changes to production.
4. Monitor and optimize platform performance, focusing on reducing latency and improving overall user experience.

Observability & Performance

Main Objectives

1. Implement monitoring and logging mechanisms to provide visibility into system performance and behavior.
2. Analyze system metrics to identify areas for improvement and optimize resource utilization.
3. Design and execute load-testing scenarios to simulate high-concurrency use cases.

Team Mentorship & Leadership

Main Objectives

1. Mentor junior engineers through code reviews, architecture clinics, and pair programming sessions.
2. Facilitate cross-team architecture reviews to ensure alignment and consistency.
3. Balance hands-on development with leadership duties—reviewing designs, resolving technical debates, and maintaining engineering discipline.

Requirements:

Experience

1. 5+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years in an architecture or senior technical leadership role.
2. Strong full-stack expertise with MERN stack (MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, Node.js).
3. Demonstrated success in designing multi-tenant architectures and scalable systems handling 1,000+ requests per minute.
4. Advanced proficiency in AWS, including EC2, Lambda, RDS, IAM, CloudFront, and Cognito.
5. Familiarity with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Bitbucket Pipelines).
6. Experience working with observability stacks like Datadog, New Relic, or OpenTelemetry.
7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; capable of summarizing trade-offs clearly for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

Main Objectives

1. Prior experience with education platforms or SaaS tools for service businesses.
2. Experience with event brokers such as Kafka, NATS, or RabbitMQ.
3. Deep knowledge of schema design, role-based access control, and data migration in NoSQL environments.
