Job Overview

The role of General Manager is a strategic leadership position that drives business growth, fosters strong relationships with key clients, and oversees the development of new opportunities across oncology, injectables, and other high-value API segments.

  • Lead cross-functional teams in India to drive operational initiatives and manage commercial, technical, and support functions.
  • Drive business expansion through value-based selling, emphasizing the company's technical strength and global capabilities.
  • Nurture and build long-term relationships with C-suite and VP-level stakeholders at key global pharmaceutical clients.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities aligned with the company's strategic direction.
  • Act as a liaison between Indian operations and global business development teams, facilitating collaboration and information exchange.
  • Travel extensively for business development, client meetings, plant visits, and international collaboration.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory shifts, and market needs to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Prepare for eventual succession as Country Head – India, ensuring seamless leadership transition.

This senior leadership role is part of the company's leadership succession plan; the current Country Head has served for over 20 years and will be transitioning out in the foreseeable future.

The General Manager position serves as a grooming ground for future top leadership of Indian operations.

This is a high-impact position requiring an individual with a deep understanding of the API industry, excellent client-facing skills, and a strategic growth mindset.
