
FMCG Team Manager

The role holder will be responsible for managing a Category FMCG team for the assigned Region. He/She will oversee the management of Category FMCG for the entire region, comprising approximately 20-30 stores.
- Leading a team of 8-10 members for buying National & Regional FMCG brands is a key responsibility. Conducting classroom training and On-The-Job training for the team members, as well as grooming and developing them, are also essential duties.
- The role holder shall coordinate and address challenges in buying and movement of goods from vendors to Distribution Centers (DCs) and DCs to stores, leading up to sales to ensure smooth business operations.
- He/She shall work closely with various teams, including Store Operations, Supply Chain, core Purchase, and Central purchase, to maximize offtakes and ensure the best promotions in stores.
- Discussing and closing Monthly, Quarterly plans with FMCG vendors, including demand planning, Promotions, and smooth supplies to stores, are critical tasks.
- Responsibilities include training and grooming Purchase officers and Assistant Purchase managers on-the-job and in classroom trainings.
- Ensuring availability in DCs and stores day-in-day-out, apart from maintaining competitive pricing in the market, is a core job requirement. The role holder must be willing to travel across locations within the assigned region and PAN India.
Key Requirements:
- A Graduate/Post Graduate/MBA with minimum 10 Years experience in FMCG Sales is mandatory.
- Experience in General Trade is preferred. Managing a similar role is crucial.
- Knowledge of the local language/location of posting is required. Willingness to travel is essential.
- Good communication, negotiation, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills are necessary.
- Excellent team management and training skills are vital, as the role holder will manage a large team and be responsible for training and grooming team members.
