Job Title: Technical Solutions Professional

Job Description:

Leading the technical execution of vessel retrofit projects is a key responsibility for this role. These projects cover the spectrum from feasibility studies to commissioning and handover at the yard.

The ideal candidate will have experience in managing complex engineering design reviews, class interactions, and vendor negotiations during retrofits involving various technologies such as Energy Efficiency Technologies (EETs).

  • Project Management: Responsible for leading end-to-end retrofit projects, including feasibility analysis, layout planning, material flow, vendor timelines, and yard coordination.
  • Engineering & Electrical Integration: Reviews design drawings, electrical interface scopes, and class/flag submissions. Liaises with engineering vendors and class societies for approvals.
  • Technical Offers & ROI: Prepares technical offers with ROI calculations, bonus/penalty models, and energy efficiency metrics for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Stakeholder & Vendor Coordination: Acts as the primary point of contact for owners, charters, yards, OEMs, and internal teams to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Project Documentation & RACI: Develops and manages project RACI charts, technical specs, work orders, and commissioning plans. Maintains project-related records.
  • Yard Attendance: Travels to yards for critical phases including installation, integration, commissioning, and paint applications.
  • Hull/Paint Strategy & Execution: Leads discussions on hull modification and paint selection, coordinating with yards and OEMs during dry dockings.

Requirements:

  • A Marine Engineer (Class 1 – Motor) with 1 to 2 years' ashore experience in technical management or yard roles.
  • Added hands-on experience in major drydocking/repairs involving tankers or bulkers.
  • Retrofit exposure in areas like EPL, BWTS, Scrubbers, VFDs, Ducts, Propellers, and Hull paint.
  • Comfortable in design reviews, electrical integration, and class interactions.
  • Commercial acumen with ROI modeling, proposal creation, cost vs savings analysis.
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools, Power BI, Advanced Excel, CFD exposure (optional).
  • Good English communication skills, both written and verbal.
