Migration Strategist Role

The role of Migration Strategist involves planning and overseeing the transition of applications from .NET to Java. This entails developing effective migration strategies, designing scalable solutions, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

  • Design and implement efficient migration plans from legacy systems to a modern Java-based ecosystem.
  • Develop high-quality, maintainable code that adheres to industry best practices and security standards.
  • Conduct thorough analysis of existing applications to identify potential migration challenges, dependencies, and areas for optimisation.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure successful project delivery.
  • Evaluate and enhance the overall architecture of the application to improve its scalability and performance.
Requirements

To excel in this role, you will need:

  • 8+ years of software development experience, with expertise in large-scale applications.
  • Proficiency in both .NET (C#, ASP.NET, .NET Core) and Java (Spring Boot, Microservices, J2EE).
  • A proven track record in leading or contributing to large-scale application migration projects.
  • Deep understanding of banking domain concepts, including financial products, regulatory compliance, and security considerations.
  • Strong knowledge of REST APIs, SOAP services, ORM, and event-driven systems.
  • Experience with relational databases, cloud platforms, containerization technologies, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
