Procurement Manager

This role is responsible for overseeing the acquisition of raw materials essential for production processes.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement, excellent negotiation skills, and a deep understanding of the raw materials market.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Review purchase requisitions and float RFQs as per plan received from planning teams
  • Negotiate best prices and issue POs to suppliers as per approval of senior management
  • Follow established procurement SOPs
Strategic Planning:
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies for raw materials to ensure cost-effectiveness and efficiency
  • Analyze market trends and identify potential risks and opportunities in the raw materials market
Supplier Partnerships:
  • Select and evaluate suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery capabilities
  • BUILD and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and negotiate favorable terms and conditions
  • Monitor supplier performance and address any issues or concerns promptly
Cost Management:
  • Manage procurement budgets for raw materials and ensure financial compliance
  • Implement cost-saving initiatives and continuously seek opportunities to reduce procurement costs
Quality Control:
  • Ensure that all raw materials procured meet required quality standards and specifications
  • Collaborate with QA teams to address any quality issues and implement corrective actions
Inventory Optimization:
  • Work closely with inventory management teams to ensure optimal stock levels of raw materials
  • Implement inventory control measures to minimize wastage and excess stock
Compliance and Risk:
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and company policies
  • Identify potential risks in the procurement process and develop mitigation strategies
Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field. Professional certifications (e.g., CPM, CPSM) are preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement, with a focus on raw materials.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement principles, practices, and strategies.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage supplier relationships and build strong partnerships.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and tools (SAP knowledge is a must).
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environments and manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience in the pesticide industry is highly desirable.
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements related to raw materials procurement.
