Airport Infrastructure Development Specialist

The primary objective of this key role is to lead the development of airport infrastructure, with a focus on detailed design of airfield and landside facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare comprehensive geometric designs for runways, taxiways, aprons, stands, airside roads, access roads, and parking layouts, ensuring safe aircraft operations.
- Develop grading plans, cut-and-fill calculations, and earthworks balance for airside and landside areas, optimizing the use of resources.
- Produce high-quality design drawings and BoQs (Bills of Quantities) extracted from BIM models, facilitating accurate project planning and execution.
- Design airfield and landside signing & marking layouts in accordance with international aviation and road design standards, enhancing operational efficiency.
- Support stand and gate design optimization, ensuring safe aircraft operations and adequate integration of fueling pits, ground power, pre-conditioned air (PCA), and GSE routes.
Simulation & Modeling:
- Utilize AviPLAN for aircraft movement simulation, apron/stand clearance checks, and taxiway layout validation, reducing the risk of design errors.
- Conduct GSE (Ground Support Equipment) simulations to optimize apron operations and gate service layouts, improving overall airport efficiency.
- Apply BIM tools (Navisworks, Civil 3D) for 3D coordination, clash detection, and multi-discipline integration, streamlining project delivery.
Codes, Standards & Compliance:
- Apply international aviation and roads design standards directly in the design process, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Ensure adherence to safety areas, separation distances, obstacle clearance, and marking/signing requirements, prioritizing passenger and crew safety.
Experience, Education & Certification:
- Hold a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or equivalent, with a strong foundation in mathematics and physics.
- Specialized training in airport/transportation design software is highly desirable, enabling advanced design capabilities.
- Possess at least 4 years of experience in airport or transportation infrastructure design, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality projects.
- Demonstrate expertise in geometric design of airside (runways, taxiways, aprons, stands) and landside (roads, parking) infrastructure, ensuring efficient airport operations.
- Exhibit skills in signing & marking design, grading, BoQ preparation, and simulation, as well as strong analytical, documentation, and coordination skills.
Skills & Competencies:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, AviPLAN, BIM (Navisworks), and AutoTURN, enabling advanced design and analysis capabilities.
- Strong knowledge of international aviation and road design standards, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Ability to apply codes and standards directly in design solutions, prioritizing safety and efficiency.
- Solid understanding of aircraft operational envelopes, turning radii, and clearance requirements, ensuring safe aircraft operations.
- Excellent analytical, documentation, and coordination skills, facilitating effective project delivery.
