Manual Tester Role

The role of a manual tester is crucial in the software development lifecycle. They play a significant part in ensuring that products meet the required quality standards.

As a manual tester, your primary responsibility will be to analyze product requirements and define acceptance criteria. This involves breaking down complex functionalities into smaller, manageable tasks. You will then design, create, and maintain reusable test scripts to ensure that all aspects of the product are thoroughly tested.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze product requirements to define acceptance criteria
  • Design, create and maintain reusable test scripts
  • Execute manual testing
  • Review Test Plans with Product Management and Development teams
  • Provide estimates on Test resources and effort to support prioritization and planning
  • Identify, document, and track software defects and inconsistencies using a bug tracking tool
  • Work closely with engineers to ensure timely resolution of issues
  • Participate as a testing resource when required and be an integral part of all releases

Requirements:

  • Desired Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 1 year experience in a similar role
  • Practical knowledge and experience with both Agile and Waterfall development methodologies
  • Experience in developing automated test scripts using Selenium
  • A successful track record for QA involvement throughout the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
