This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled and motivated individual to take on a leadership role in supply chain management.
Key Responsibilities:The successful candidate will be responsible for creating orders, establishing and developing suppliers, and positioning them to support high service levels. This position will play a critical role in achieving cost containment, inventory, and supplier performance goals through negotiations, contract management, and order creation.
Procurement Processes:
- Order creation using SAP
- Vendor evaluation including fabrication and assembly
- Pricing and negotiation of operational and capital expenses
- Creation of purchase orders and non-freightable items
- Procurement modeling for materials, goods, and services
- E-auction awareness and participation
- Group technical compliance policies
- SAP and Ariba platform knowledge
Lead in the development of RFQ evaluation models to assess bids and determine the best value offers. Collaborate with the head of SCM and project team to create annual budgets and develop complex contractual pricing arrangements that require sophisticated contracting techniques and cost-sharing agreements.
Monitor procurement operations including tendering processes, contractor appraisal, offer evaluation, contract management, risk assessment, and legal considerations. Participate in discussions with project management and engineering functions to develop initial tender-stage project schedules and formulate risk management plans.
Relationship Management:
Develop and maintain effective strategic relationships with international suppliers, OEMs, and research institutes to gather market intelligence and identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
Collaborate with local, national, and international defense and aerospace companies and other organizations to develop and maintain a network of contacts and partnerships.
People Development:
Lead in building and maintaining a high-performance culture through effective performance management, communication, and mentoring. Provide clear leadership and promote a team culture consistent with organizational values. Direct the development of plans for the recruitment of skilled executives, establishing remuneration levels, training, and employee development programs.
- Analyze supply chain operations, KPIs, and cost metrics and report on supply chain performance monthly.
- Implement modern inventory management, quality management, and management information practices.
- Develop, monitor, and control annual budgets in terms of employees, equipment, and materials to meet functional objectives.
- Strategize, plan, monitor, and control EXIM and domestic logistics operations to ensure timely availability of raw materials and dispatch of finished goods at optimal cost.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience dealing with suppliers, especially defense commodities.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Work experience in a multicultural and changing environment.
- Hands-on experience with SAP Ariba platform.
- Defense industry exposure.
- Good experience with logistics, freight forwarding, subcontracting, and vendor development.
