Role Overview

The Value Chain Analyst plays a pivotal role in driving research and analysis of existing and potential value chains. This position involves designing and implementing methodologies, conducting stakeholder consultations, and generating evidence-based insights to inform promotion strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and lead the approach for value chain scoping and analysis with a sustainability lens.
  • Identify essential stakeholder groups and develop robust field survey instruments.
  • Conduct stakeholder interviews, workshops, and field surveys.
  • Lead technical discussions on prioritisation and analysis of value chains.
  • Draft and deliver high-quality technical reports, including value chain maps and sustainability analysis.
  • Coordinate closely with consortium partners and project stakeholders throughout the assignment.

Requirements & Qualifications:

A Master's degree in Environmental Science, Forestry, Business Administration, or a related field is required. Additionally, proficiency in English and Hindi is necessary. The ideal candidate will have 8 years of professional experience in sustainability, natural resources management, and/or nature-based businesses, with 5 years of experience in value chain analysis and promotion activities, and at least 4 years of total experience in projects in India.

Desired Skills & Competencies:

Advanced skills in value chain analysis, including sustainability dimensions, are essential. Field survey design, stakeholder engagement, and interview facilitation skills are also required. Strong report writing and technical presentation skills are necessary, as well as the ability to lead and mentor junior staff and enumerators.
