Comprehensive EHS Engineer Role

Job Description:

The role of an EHS Engineer is pivotal in creating and implementing sustainable safety systems that foster a culture of responsibility within an organization. As a self-driven professional, you will be responsible for independently managing all aspects of EHS, ensuring seamless compliance with statutory laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Developing EHS Policies: Establish and implement comprehensive EHS policies and procedures that cover various aspects of workplace safety, including risk assessments, emergency response plans, and regulatory compliance.
  • Conducting Risk Assessments: Identify and mitigate workplace risks through systematic assessment and planning, ensuring a safe working environment for employees and contractors alike.
  • Implementing ISO Management Systems: Develop and maintain ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems, promoting a culture of excellence in safety and environmental stewardship.
  • Employee Training and Development: Design and deliver training programs to enhance EHS awareness, procedures, and compliance among employees and contractors, empowering them to make informed decisions about workplace safety.
  • Regular Inspections and Audits: Conduct regular inspections, audits, and incident investigations to identify areas for improvement and ensure corrective actions are completed in a timely manner.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering Science or Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Safety preferred.
  • Experience: At least 3 years of EHS experience in heavy electrical equipment manufacturing.
  • Expertise: Strong expertise in industrial, fire, and machine safety.
  • Knowledge: Proven knowledge of risk assessments, safety documentation, and regulatory standards.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Ability to work independently with ownership and a collaborative attitude.
