Sr. Technical Support Specialist, Fiber Optic Transport and Switching

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Sr. Technical Support Specialist to join our team in providing system-level post-sales support for our customers.

This role involves testing, troubleshooting, and remote technical support for our fiber optic transport and switching products. A strong understanding of fiber optic transport and switching protocols is essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide remote technical support via telephone or online for identified products 24/7 when required.
  • On-site support to Customers where required.
  • Communicate with Design and Supply Chain on problems and issues found in the field.
  • Utilize debug tools as well as lab research to aid Customers' technical problems.
  • Recover information necessary to escalate the incident issue to senior engineers.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field (e.g., Engineering, Computer Science) from a four-year college or university with 3-5 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Familiarity with fiber optic transport and switching equipment.
  • Experience in a technical support role with an equipment vendor in the Telco industry.
  • Proven problem-solving experience with SONET SDH equipment, DWDM equipment, Carrier Ethernet enterprise equipment, and associated fiber optic facilities.
