Data Center Infrastructure Specialist

As a seasoned Data Center Technician, you will be responsible for delivering on-demand hardware support to our infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Cable and Optics Installation: Test and install copper, fiber, and power cables for new circuits.
  • Rack and Stack Operations: Assist server and network teams with hardware deployment.
  • Asset Management: Perform labeling, patching, and asset tagging as per SOPs.
  • Procedural Task Execution: Follow task lists and submit detailed reports.
  • Fault Analysis and Testing: Conduct functional testing and failure analysis of hardware systems.
Break-Fix Support Tasks:
  • Optical Fiber Maintenance: Clean and inspect optical fibers (LC fiber scoping).
  • Component Replacement: Replace or install loopbacks and faulty optical cables.
  • Bit Error Rate Testing: Perform Bit Error Rate (BER) testing.
  • Line Card Replacements: Replace or reseat line cards and faulty components, handle RMA and diagnostics.
  • System Reboot and Configuration: Reboot chassis, configure remote access and basic storage array settings.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
  • Technical Expertise: Proficiency in DWDM, IPv4/IPv6, Optical Fiber (MPO), RJ45 technologies.
  • Fiber Tools: Experience with VFL, OPM, OTDR, and BERT tools.
  • Core Activities: Strong skills in rack, stack, jack, cabling, configuration, optimization, inventory, documentation.
  • Systems Knowledge: Familiarity with remote access tools, network hardware, and storage arrays.
  • Support Areas: Understanding of SLA/KPI, RCA/CAR, asset management, fault diagnosis.
