Director of Design

We are seeking an experienced Director of Design & Project Development to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of design and capital projects across our hotel portfolio.

This strategic leadership role ensures that all projects meet brand standards, stakeholder expectations, and financial objectives while fostering innovation in design and project management.

  • Develop and implement strategies for design and project management aligned with company goals.
  • Establish design guides, specifications, and standards for new builds, renovations, and conversions.
  • Provide thought leadership in design innovation, sustainability, and construction methodologies.
  • Serve as the main liaison among owners, operators, designers, and contractors.

Oversight Responsibilities:

  • Lead design review, approval, and conceptualization for development projects.
  • Ensure brand standard compliance while promoting functional and creative design solutions.
  • Oversee project scopes, feasibility studies, and master plans with stakeholders.

Project Management:

  • Plan, budget, schedule, and execute capital projects on time and within allocated resources.
  • Monitor project performance, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance, permits, and sustainability standards are met.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in design and project management in hospitality or real estate, including 5+ years in senior leadership.
  • Proven track record of delivering complex, high-value projects on time and within budget.
