Key Role in Port Development

We are seeking an experienced Sr. Structural Engineer to play a key role in the development and modernization of Trivandrum Port. This exciting opportunity will contribute to the growth of Kerala's maritime infrastructure.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead structural engineering for port projects: Design, analyze, and execute key structural components for port infrastructure, including breakwaters, jetties, quays, docks, and seawalls.
  • Provide technical leadership and oversight for the execution of port infrastructure projects, ensuring quality standards, budget constraints, and project timelines.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders: Work closely with contractors, consultants, government agencies, and engineers to ensure seamless coordination and integration of structural designs into the overall project.
  • Risk and safety management: Oversee risk mitigation strategies and safety measures, ensuring structural designs and construction comply with regulatory guidelines and safety standards.
  • Site supervision and quality assurance: Supervise construction activities on-site, providing technical guidance, resolving issues, and ensuring high-quality standards for structural integrity and sustainability.
  • Design optimization: Implement advanced structural engineering principles to optimize designs for cost-effectiveness, resilience, and environmental sustainability.
  • Project documentation and reporting: Prepare progress reports, design reviews, and technical documentation for stakeholders, ensuring transparency and compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in structural engineering with a focus on marine and port infrastructure, with significant PMC experience.
  • Post Graduate degree in Structural Engineering, specializing in marine structures or coastal engineering.
  • Proven experience in project management of large-scale port projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and managing multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proficiency in structural engineering software such as STAAD Pro, ETABS, SAP2000, SAFE, and other tools for design and analysis.
  • Strong understanding of marine structures, including their response to wave forces, tide variations, sediment movement, and marine environmental conditions.
  • Ability to lead and manage teams, collaborate with multiple stakeholders, and ensure project milestones are met.
  • Expertise in contract management, procurement, and ensuring compliance with local regulations and environmental standards.
  • Excellent communication skills to present design concepts and project progress to stakeholders and clients.
