Structural Design Lead

This role is an integral part of a collaborative team, working under senior or project engineer supervision to deliver projects.

  • Prepare comprehensive feasibility study reports for review with senior engineers and assemble detailed design specifications.
  • Work closely with local team leaders and WSP specialists to agree and monitor the scope of works.
  • Define building requirements in collaboration with local teams and WSP experts for detailed design purposes.
  • Carry out detailed designs adhering to WSP and UK regulations standards, including complex calculations and coordination issues.
  • Review and monitor the production of calculations, quality assurance, technical reviews, and sign-offs.
  • Ensure timely completion of project costing information in requisite detail and adhere to deadlines.
  • Provide essential documentation via WSP teams to support tender document preparation.
  • Coordinate project contracts documents and facilitate input from team members.
  • Handle day-to-day queries from WSP teams and report any variances between constructed works and design intent.
  • Project manage commissions using applicable project management tools.
  • Lead the design process, encouraging teams to deliver innovative and cost-effective solutions.
  • Implement document control, archiving CDM, and QA processes relevant to project work.
