About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Design Engineer to join our team. As a Lead Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing low voltage electrical motors with a strong focus on resolving quality issues and leading cost reduction initiatives through engineering design excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Design and develop components, particularly low voltage electrical motors, ensuring high quality and efficiency.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Identify root causes of field issues and provide robust, long-term design solutions.
  • Cost Reduction: Analyze existing designs and propose cost-effective alternatives without compromising functionality or performance.
  • Stakeholder Management: Closely coordinate with stakeholders like Manufacturing, QMM & Suppliers.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Strong Fundamentals: Strong fundamentals in mechanical design, preferably low voltage electrical motors.
  • Hands-on Experience: Hands-on experience in component design and development cycle.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Experience in root cause analysis and solving field quality issues through design interventions.
  • Value Engineering: Hands-on experience in Value Engineering and Design-to-Cost methods.
  • Manufacturing Knowhow: Manufacturing knowhow on machined parts, pressure die casting & stamping.
  • Reliability Concepts: Exposure to reliability concepts.
  • FMEA and DRBFM: Hands-on experience in FMEA & DRBFM (Preferably L2 certified).
  • DFX Analysis: Experience in performing comprehensive DFX (DFA, DFM & DFC) analysis to eliminate complexities and inefficiencies of design.
  • BES/PE Principles: Good Exposure to BES/PE principles.
  • GD&T and Tolerance Stack Up: Good Knowledge in GD&T and tolerance stack up calculation.
  • CAD Design: Expertise in creating CAD designs using NX and Teamcenter.
  • Engineering Documents: Preparation of Engineering documents (Drawing) as per design standards & guidelines.
  • Engineering BOM: Creation, updating and maintaining of engineering BOM in SAP.
Optional Skills
  • Engineering Change Management: Experience working on Engineering Change Management Processes.
  • Design Validation: Familiarity with design validation using simulation tools.
  • EMAG Understanding: Good understanding of EMAG.
  • PPAP Documentation: Experience in PPAP documentation and working with APQP frameworks.
