The Role of Data Governance Strategist involves translating the direction from senior leaders into actionable deliverables that accelerate AI innovation and ensure a data-driven organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Leadership & Governance: Develop and implement an enterprise-wide data governance framework, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements like GDPR and CCPA.
  • Team & Stakeholder Management: Lead a team of specialists, mentor and manage stakeholders, and serve as the primary escalation point for operational-level data and process issues.
  • Standards & Documentation: Establish standards for information nomenclature, content, and structure, including metadata, glossaries, and taxonomies.
  • Quality & Improvement: Identify areas for data governance improvements, resolve data quality problems, and develop metrics to measure the effectiveness of data governance policies and standards.

Requirements

  • A Doctorate degree with 4 years of experience or a Master's/Master's degree with 14-16 years of experience in Information Systems.
  • 6 years of managerial experience directly managing people and leading teams or projects.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience with data governance principles and technology.
  • Technical skills with in-depth knowledge of Pharma processes and domain specialization.

  • Leadership & Influence: Demonstrated leadership experience and ability to influence senior executives and multi-functional leaders.
  • Problem-Solving: The ability to identify areas for data governance improvements and resolve data quality problems.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with ability to work effectively with global, virtual teams.
  • Collaboration: Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build business relationships.
