Job Title: Electric Motor Designer

We are seeking a skilled and innovative Electric Motor Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 5-8 years of experience in the design and development of high-efficiency electric motors for various applications.

About the Role:

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and developing high-performance switched reluctance motors (SRM), synchronous reluctance motors (SynchREL), PMSM/BLDC motor & generator designs for electric vehicle and hybrid vehicle applications.
  • They will work closely with electromagnetic design engineers to develop mechanically and thermally feasible designs.
  • The designer will also be responsible for testing and validating electric machines as per relevant standards on dyno and on the vehicle.
  • Benchmarking and generation of ideas for better performance, quality, cost, and weight.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A strong understanding of automotive drivetrain components in EV and HEV drivetrain.
  • Knowledge of mechanical design of motors and good understanding of construction/manufacturing methods of electric machines.
  • Emphasis on documentation and software skills: FLUX, MAXWELL, MotorCAD, SPEED, Matlab/SIMULINK with knowledge of SIMSCAPE , python.
  • Hands-on experience on motor sizing, permanent magnet selection, and electromagnetic design using state-of-the-art tools like Maxwell 2D/3D & Altair Flux.
