Financial Accountant Job Description

This is a comprehensive role for a Chartered Accountant who will be responsible for managing all financial aspects of the company. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles, financial reporting, and taxation regulations applicable in India.

The successful candidate will oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with Indian accounting standards. They will also conduct variance analysis and provide insights into financial performance.

An additional responsibility will include ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial records, as well as enhancing the reporting model via ERP and developing improved reports from ERP systems.

The Chartered Accountant will manage GST & Statutory compliances, including preparation and filing of returns. They will also assist with income tax filings and compliance with tax regulations, while staying updated with changes in tax laws and regulations affecting the company.

In addition to these responsibilities, the Senior Finance & Accounts Manager will coordinate with external auditors for the annual audit process. They will implement audit recommendations and enhance internal controls.

This role requires the ability to support budgeting and forecasting activities, monitor budget variances, and report significant issues to management.

The successful candidate will identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and implement improvements. They will ensure adherence to internal controls and accounting policies.

Finally, they will supervise and mentor junior accounting staff, foster a collaborative team environment, and build and sustain an engaged and motivated workforce.

  • Financial Reporting:
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with Indian accounting standards.
  • Taxation:
  • Manage GST & Statutory compliances, including preparation and filing of returns.
  • Auditing:
  • Coordinate with external auditors for the annual audit process.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting:
  • Support budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Process Improvement:
  • Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and implement improvements.
  • Team Leadership:
  • Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff.
  • People Management:
  • Define performance targets for team members, provide timely feedback, and offer improvement insights and support.
  • Requirements:
  • 8-10 years of experience in the Accounts Department, with at least 5 years on-site working as a Chartered Accountant.
  • Solid background in accounting principles, financial reporting, and taxation regulations applicable in India.
  • Familiarity with computer ERP skills and proficiency in Team Leadership.
