Job Summary:

We are seeking a seasoned Procurement Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing vendor partnerships, driving category profitability, and ensuring efficient stock flow.

The Senior Procurement Specialist will be responsible for:

">
  • ">
  • Managing vendor partnerships to drive category profitability">
  • Coordinating with the Merchandising team to balance assortment planning, sales performance, and inventory control">
  • Planning for buying based on emerging trends, customer needs, and competitor activity">
  • Finalizing assortment mix by category, ensuring balance between core, seasonal, and new products">
  • Approving and overseeing buying budgets aligned with Open-to-Buy (OTB)">
  • Sourcing, evaluating, and onboarding suppliers and brands for the retail chain">
  • Negotiating pricing, margins, credit terms, and promotional support with suppliers">
  • Maintaining strong supplier relationships to secure best-in-class deals">
  • Resolving supply chain and quality issues quickly">
  • Monitoring inventory levels, sell-through, and stock turns across all stores">
  • Driving actions to reduce aged inventory with markdowns, promotions, and bundle strategies">
  • Ensuring healthy Gross Margin Return on Investment (GMROI) and category profitability">
  • Cross-functional collaboration with Store Managers, Operations, Visual Merchandising, Inventory, Order Management, and Marketing teams">
  • Analyzing sales data, market trends, and seasonal demand to forecast product needs accurately">
  • Preparing regular reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as inventory turnover, sales performance, vendor performance, and purchasing costs">

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • ">
  • Minimum Qualification: Graduate or Diploma in a relevant field">
  • 3-5 years of buying and procurement experience in retail, multi-brand, or category retail">
  • Strong vendor negotiation and relationship management skills">
  • Deep knowledge of assortment planning, stock ageing, and margin optimisation">
  • Proven ability to balance creativity, trend spotting, with numbers and financial planning">
  • Hands-on experience with MS Excel and Google Sheets; familiarity with retail ERP is a plus">
  • Strong leadership skills to guide planners and coordinate across functions">
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment">
  • Willingness to travel up to 50%">

We offer a competitive salary range of $20,000 - $25,000 per month, health insurance, and a Provident Fund. Our office is located in Nagercoil, Tamil Nadu, and we require reliable commuting or relocation before starting work.
