
Emergency Care Specialist

The core functions of this role encompass a wide range of duties, prioritizing timely and effective delivery of emergency care.
- Clinical Expertise: Provide high-quality medical attention to patients in emergency and trauma settings, making critical decisions under pressure.
- Emergency Procedures: Execute complex procedures such as airway management, intubation, defibrillation, central line insertion, and trauma resuscitation with precision.
- Triage and Diagnostics: Swiftly triage, diagnose, and initiate management for a diverse array of medical, surgical, pediatric, and psychiatric emergencies.
- Leadership and Supervision: Oversee junior doctors, interns, and residents in the delivery of emergency care services.
- Interdisciplinary Coordination: Collaborate seamlessly with ICU, surgery, orthopedics, obstetrics, and other specialties as required.
- Faculty Development: Teach undergraduate and postgraduate students Emergency Medicine topics including Basic and Advanced Life Support (BLS, ACLS), ATLS, PALS, and more.
- Education Delivery: Contribute to case-based discussions, simulation training, practical skill labs, question banks, OSCE stations, assessments, and mentor student research projects.
- Protocol Development: Assist in crafting clinical protocols and emergency response guidelines that ensure optimal care delivery.
- Quality Assurance: Participate in quality assurance programs, mass casualty drills, and preparedness initiatives to guarantee excellence in emergency response.
- Documentation and Compliance: Ensure accurate and timely documentation, medico-legal case handling, and adherence to hospital policies.
- Research Initiatives: Engage in or assist with clinical research, audits, and quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the advancement of emergency medicine.
- Knowledge Sharing: Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at conferences to foster professional growth and development.
Essential Qualifications:
- MBBS + MD/DNB in Emergency Medicine or equivalent qualifications.
- MD in General Medicine / Anaesthesiology / Critical Care / Family Medicine with recognized training/experience in Emergency Medicine.
- Registration with the Medical Council (state/national).
Desirable Qualifications:
- Fellowship in Emergency Medicine (FEM) or equivalent.
- BLS, ACLS, ATLS Instructor Certification.
- Experience in teaching and publishing in peer-reviewed journals.
- Rapid Decision-Making: Possess excellent skills in rapid clinical decision-making and crisis management.
- Communication and Triage: Demonstrate exceptional communication and triage skills.
- Technical Proficiency: Display proficiency in emergency procedures and point-of-care ultrasonography.
- Team Leadership: Exhibit the ability to lead and work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Mentorship and Leadership: Showcase strong teaching, mentorship, and leadership qualities.
- Technological Literacy: Familiarity with EMR systems and digital tools used in emergency care is essential.
