Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Neonatal Specialist to join our team. As a key member of the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), you will be responsible for providing comprehensive care to critically ill or premature babies, as well as supervising the day-to-day operations of the NICU.

Responsibilities:
  • Clinical Care: Provide high-quality care to neonates in the NICU, including ventilator and CPAP support.
  • Diagnostics and Management: Diagnose and manage conditions such as respiratory distress, neonatal sepsis, jaundice, birth asphyxia, prematurity, congenital anomalies, etc.
  • Procedures and Resuscitation: Perform neonatal procedures (intubation, umbilical line insertion, exchange transfusion, surfactant administration, etc.) and lead neonatal resuscitation in delivery rooms and emergency situations.
  • Care Planning and Parental Counseling: Develop care plans for high-risk neonates and ensure parental counseling.
NICU Management:
  • Operations Supervision: Supervise day-to-day operations of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
  • Infection Control and Monitoring: Ensure adherence to infection control, monitoring protocols, and safety standards.
  • Care Coordination: Coordinate care with pediatricians, obstetricians, nurses, and other specialists.
  • Documentation and Quality Improvement: Maintain NICU documentation, registers, and quality improvement data.
Qualifications:
  • Essential Qualifications: MBBS + MD (Pediatrics), DM / DNB Neonatology or Fellowship in Neonatology (IAP/NNF recognized)
  • Valid Registration: Valid registration with State or National Medical Council
Skills and Competencies:
  • Knowledge and Skills: In-depth knowledge of neonatal physiology, pathology, and intensive care; Skilled in neonatal procedures and use of ventilators, incubators, monitors
  • Leadership and Communication: Excellent decision-making in high-pressure and emergency situations; Strong leadership and team coordination; Effective communication with multidisciplinary teams and parents
