Intensivist Opportunity

Job Summary:

Our institution seeks a highly skilled Intensivist to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Academic & Teaching Duties:

    • Teach undergraduate and postgraduate students core principles of ICU protocols and procedures.
    • Conduct lectures, clinical demonstrations, and simulation-based training.
    • Guide thesis work, case presentations, journal clubs, and OSCE preparation.
    • Develop teaching material and participate in curriculum updates.

  • Clinical Duties (ICU Management):

    • Provide direct supervision and clinical management of ICU patients.
    • Oversee daily rounds in ICU and coordinate multidisciplinary care.
    • Perform and teach ICU procedures (intubation, central lines, arterial lines, percutaneous tracheostomy, etc.).
    • Develop ICU protocols, antimicrobial stewardship, and sedation guidelines.
    • Lead resuscitation teams and manage medical emergencies in critical care units.

  • Research & Publications:

    • Conduct clinical research in areas such as sepsis management, critical care outcomes, ventilator strategies.
    • Publish in peer-reviewed journals and attend academic and scientific forums.
    • Mentor residents and fellows in research methodology and critical care audits.

  • Administrative & Institutional Roles:

    • Participate in hospital committees (infection control, ICU planning, ethics, etc.).
    • Help organize CMEs, simulation workshops, and interdisciplinary training.
    • Ensure ICU compliance with accreditation standards (e.g., NABH, JCI).

Qualifications:

Essential Qualifications:

  • MBBS + MD/DNB in Anesthesiology / Internal Medicine / Pulmonology / Emergency Medicine.
  • DM / DNB / Fellowship in Critical Care Medicine (IDCCM, IFCCM, FNB Critical Care).

Desirable Qualifications:

  • ACLS / BLS instructor certification.
  • Teaching experience in medical or academic institutions.
  • Publications in intensive care or emergency medicine journals.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Advanced clinical knowledge in critical care, ventilation, and ICU procedures.
  • Decision-making under pressure and crisis management.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills in a multidisciplinary setup.
  • Competency in using ICU monitoring systems and electronic medical records.
  • Teaching, mentoring, and simulation training abilities.

Required Skills:

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and situations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate qualification in a relevant field (e.g., Master's degree in Critical Care).
