Telecommunications Network Specialist

Job Overview:

  • Deliver expert-level support for complex telecommunications networks, focusing on FTTx deployments and IP/Ethernet circuits.
  • Utilize a wide range of network equipment from leading vendors to troubleshoot and repair issues efficiently.
  • Manage and analyze routing protocols (BGP, MPLS, ISIS), switching configurations (VLANs), and fiber network technologies (DWDM/SDH, Ethernet).
  • Perform standard network tests (RFC 2544) and assist with fiber troubleshooting using OTDR techniques.
  • Document all work efforts, troubleshooting steps, and repair activities accurately in ticketing systems.
  • Provide top-notch customer service through clear, professional communication in English.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience in telecommunications, specifically with Ethernet and IP platforms.
  • Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of SONET, SDH, DWDM, and FTT (Fiber to the X) networks.
  • Work Environment: Prior experience in a Network Operations Center (NOC) is highly preferred.
  • Certifications: Professional certifications from vendors like Cisco, Juniper, or Nokia are advantageous.
  • Soft Skills: A proactive individual contributor who can work independently with minimal supervision.
